LCC (Home) v. Islanders

Final: 8-5 Loss

Q1.  0-2 The Islanders started off slow down 0- 2. Strong checking, good saves, good ball movement, few shots and no breaks from the refs. 1 man up at the last minute.

Q2.  1-1. Kyle Runyon scores early in the quart.  The defense had a few miss clears, but the game was played more evenly.

Q3. 2-0. Start of the qtr with a shot off post by  Eddie Vita.  The LCC  defense played  high pressure compact and were quick to transition. LCC double teamed the Islander point middie.  A  Picked off pass translated to a quick transition goal. Islander's end the quarter with a man up they were unable to convert to a goal.

Q4. 3-4. Eddie Vita scores with quick turn shot on a fast clear run from Kody Englehart. This was followed shortly by a unassisted long shot goal by LCC. Unassisted long shot goal late in the quarter. Man up goal by Alex Bookout followed by a quick LCC goal. Kyle  Runyon had dodging  run with a shot and goal followed by a quick unassisted Bookout goal.

3-27-10.

Islanders (Home) v. St. Ignacious:

Final  7-9 Loss

Q1. 1-3. The Islanders started off with an early goal by Eddie Vita from a feed by George Bailey. This was followed up by a quick unassisted goal by St. Ignacious.

Q2. 2-3.  The Islanders scored a goal followed immediately by an St. Ignacious face win converted to an unassisted  goal,  then another assisted goal  by St. Ingacious. The Islanders fought back with a Kodie Englehart to Eddie Vita for a quick stick goal. The Islanders held off a man down in the last 50sec

Q3. 2-0. Started the quarter with an early  Man down. Followed with a man up unassisted long shot goal Kodie Englehart. The Islanders were man up with 3min left but failed to convert the opportunity. Islanders hold off a double man down. In the last minute there was a quick transition goal with a Kyle Runyan assist to Eddie Vita.

Q4. 2-3. Islanders tie up the game with a Kodie Englehart  dodge and bounce shot goal. St. Ignacious came back with an unassisted goal. The Islanders were unable to convert a man up situation.  St. Ignacious found the net again with long shot goal.  In a man up situation Eddie Vita found the ball and the back of the goal with scoop shot. The Islanders were unable to hold be St. Ignacious as they scored an unassisted goal.

Poway (Home)v. Islanders

Final  5 -3 Win

Q1. 1-0.  Islanders put pressure on the Poway goalie, but failed to convert shots into a goal.  Poway scores mid-quarter  after a series of passes.

Q2.  1-1.Poway scores early in the second on an unassisted goal.   Islander defense stepped up creating turnovers. The Islanders found the net with an unassisted goal after a loose ball for Jacob Lujan.

Q3. 1-1. Lujan dodging run and pass to Eddie Vita for quick stick goal. Islander were unable to convert a man up with 2 minutes left In the quarter.  This was followed by the Islanders unable to convert a double man up with 1 minute left in the quarter. Poway scored  a quick transition goals with a few seconds left.

Q4. 0-3. The Islanders came alive with an aggressive offense and defense.  After a long series of passing, shots and possession, Sergio Flores fires a long shot for a goal. Next, a man up possession was converted to a quick stick goal by Eddie Vita. Islanders finished a  man up situation with long shot from Kodie Englehart with 3 minutes left on the clock

La Jolla (Home)v. Islanders

Final: 6-13 Win

Q1. 0-4

The Islanders came out with hunger after the spring break Maryland games back east.  Andrew Woolf  started the islanders off with winning a majority of the face-offs in the game. Alex Bookout started it off with a pass to Jacob Lujan for a quick stick goal. The Islanders converted a man up goal with Alex Bookout to George Bailey.  Next Alex Bookout found  Hunter corpus for a goal.  Sergio Flores won a  ground ball and after a dodging run he found  Eddie Vita for a goal.

Q2.  1-4.

The Islander kept up the pressure with a dodge & pass from Kyle Ruyon to Kodi Englehart for a goal.  George Bailey followed it up with a 12 yard shot & goal. La Jolla found the Islanders net for the first of the game in a man- up situation. Alex Bookout threaded a  pass across the face to the crease  to Jacob Lujan for a goal. Eddie Vita found  Alex Bookout for goal with 17 seconds left in the 2nd quarter.

Q3. 2-3

Kyle Runyon passed the ball to Alex Bookout for a quick stick goal. La Jolla struck back with an unassisted goal followed by a transition goal by La Jolla.  Kyle Runyon had a dodging run that created an unassisted goal.  The Islanders took advantage of a man up situation with Eddie Vita finding the back of the net with a feed from Kode Englehart.

Q4. 2 -2

 The game wound down with an unassisted shot and goal by Sergio Flores.  Next, Eddie Vita converted a man up situation in to goal.  La Jolla struck back with an unassisted goal and finished the game with an unassisted goal in an Islander man-down situation.

Cathedral v. Islanders

Final : 7-11

Q1.  2-3.

The Islanders started off quickly with 2 goals in the opening 3 minutes. The first goal was in the opening minute by Eddie Vita. This was  followed by and unassisted goal by Jack Perkins.  The Don's came back with a face off and quick transition to a goal.   Kodie Englehart  had an unassisted  long shot & goal.  It was followed up by a face off win by the Don's that translated to dodge and goal.

Q2. 3-5

The don's won the face off, but the Islanders defense held them off. On the Islanders  attack there was a lot of ball movement that translated to a shot and goal by George Bailey.  The Don's pick-off an Islander clear that created an 1 on 1 with the goalie that turned into a Don's goal. This was followed by a Don's possession and goal.   The Islanders came back with a lone goal shot off the crease by Eddie Vita. The Don's quickly brought the game back to even with goal. The Islander reacted quickly;  the  defense striped the Don's and  Eddie Vita ripped a shot for a goal on the quick transition.  Jacob Lujan found an opening and a quick stick goal. The Islanders ended up the quarter strong with a Kyle Runyon feed to George Bailey for quick transition goal.

Q3. 0-2

Eddie Vita fed George Bailey on a cut and quick stick goal on the crease.  Kodie Englehart found Bobby Ferrar on the crease for a goal after a ground ball and long run.

Q4.  2-1

Five minutes into the quarter Jacob Lujan passed to Kyle Runyon who dodged and ripped a shot for a goal.   The Islander defense held off the  Don's in a man- down.    The Don's came back with 2 goals late in the quarter.

Islanders (home)  v. University city

Final : 12-0

 Q1. 4-0

The Islanders started off quickly  with a goal a Kodie Englehart from Bobby Ferrar.  This was followed up form a goal from Bookout from Eddie Vita.  Eddie Vita fed  Bobby Ferrar for a goal. The Islanders wrapped up the quarter with Kyle Runyon feeding  Eddie vita for a goal

Q2. 2-0

The Islanders controlled the second quarter with an unassisted goal from Bobby Ferrar on the crease and an unassisted goal from Kodie Englehart

Q3. 5-0

Alex Bookout  scored from an assist from  Will Burros. Next, was an unassisted goal from Nate Wilson.  Kyle Runyon found  Alex Bookout  for a shot and goal on the crease. Mathew Ovrom to Andrew Ovrom for a quick stick goal near the crease.  The quarter ended with a face off win by Andrew Woolf that  translated into dodging run and goal by Andrew Woolf.

Q4. 1-0

Islanders held off a 2 man down to no goals scored.  Nate Wilson fed Will Burros for  a quick transition goal near the crease.

Islanders (home)  v. Foothills

Final : 10-8

 Q1. 3-0

Kyle Runyon started off the game for the Islandes by fighting through a doge for an unassisted goal.  George Bailey fed  Jack Perkins for a bounce shot goal.  Alex Bookout found Eddie Vita cutting across the crease for a shot and goal.

Q2. 4-3

A Foothills Stick violation during the quarter break started off the quarter with a Islander man-up. After a good clear, Alex Bookout found  Eddie Vita for a quick stick goal.  Foothills found the net midway through the quarter with a goal. This was followed quickly by an unassisted run and goal from the Foothills. The Islanders struck back immediately with penetration dodging run by Kodie Englehart to Bobby Ferrar for a quick stick goal on the crease.   Foothills responded quickly with an intercepted clearing pass that translated into as series of passes prior to shot and goal.  Kyle Runyon had a penetrating run and found the top left corner in a cross goal shot.  Kevin Siefert  assisted George Bailey for a mid-range shot and goal.

Q3. 1-2

Five minutes into Q3 Foothills made the first goal of the quarter.  The Foothills translated an Islander off-sides man-up into a goal.  Bobby Ferrar had a dodging run from behind the goal for an unassisted goal.  The Islanders failed to convert  two  man-up situations.

Q4. 2-3

Foothills started off the quarter in a man-up situation that was rolled over from third quarter penalty.  Foothills capitalized on the opportunity for a quick  goal.  Kyle Runyon had a lateral dodging run and finished with a mid-range goal 12 yards out.  Alex Bookout had an unassisted goal after a dodging run. The Foothills had a quick stick goal off the crease.   Foothills scored with second left from a dodge run starting behind the goal.
